In Memory of Marcus Belgrave

The jazz world has lost a great one recently. I was lucky enough to know about Marcus from my friend Leni Sinclair who has photographed him for years. I got to take this photo of him at the Detroit Jazz festival and after the photo was taken his trumpet was stolen. After a large TV and radio campaign and sweep of local pawn shops, the trumpet was returned to him. RIP and may no one ever steal anything you love- from you again!!
